About Us

MEET OUR CHAIR

Tim Olive

The Dartmouth Housing Society began over forty years ago when community members and the local Dartmouth City Council acknowledged the need for a local organization to take a more active role in the provision of affordable housing in Dartmouth. That significant decision has led, forty years later, to our nonprofit group providing over one hundred affordable housing units and growing in Dartmouth. Over the years we have been privileged to have volunteer board members who brought to the organization a commitment and vision that continues today to nurture the operations of Dartmouth Housing.

As we move forward with rejuvenated government adopted policies, that encourage the development and funding of affordable housing through the non-profit sector in this region, the role of Dartmouth Housing has reemerged as a substantial player in the provision of affordable housing.

Our commitment to the those working families in need of affordable housing has not wavered over the years and with this major acknowledgment by society to support our young families Dartmouth Housing is well positioned to continue our role in supplying this need for affordable housing.
